With yesterday being the longest day of the year and the official start of summer, and with the doom and gloom of England's early exit from the World Cup tournament, what better way to really "kick off" your own summer than to visit the annual Party in the Park at Pitshanger Park today, Sunday 22nd June, starting at 1.0pm?   

All the old favourites return this year - the stage events, the Gastrodome and Beer and Music Tent, the Arts and Crafts stalls, the Carousel and the Arena activities, including the ever popular Dog Show presented by Village Vet and with our very own John Martin as Master of Ceremonies - come down at 3.0pm for the inevitable chaos when the pooches simply will not listen to their nearest and dearest as they all just want to talk to John!!

We must make special mention of the fact that the Arena is now called the Dave Wallis Arena in memory of a dear resident and traders' friend who sadly and suddenly passed away in January this year and for whom John stood in as MC last year, little expecting to be doing it this year also. Dave is sorely missed.

So with no football and Wimbledon not starting until tomorrow, what reason do you have for not coming?
